GE Healthcare

Overview

GE Healthcare is well-known brand hospitals look to for hardware solutions – CT, Xray, and many other machines. In the early stages of a deal, salespeople are often trying to break into accounts with good data that help position themselves as a trusted advisor. That data comes in the form of a market-wide report I would manually create that tells them, and their customer, general trends of what’s happening within a hardware segment in a given grouping of zip codes. The reports were densely packed with detailed data.

Very useful data in helping close a deal, but what it had in detail and granularity it lacked inaccessibility. Wait times were commonly up to 7 days for a requested report, user limits of no more than 2 reports were standard. I decided to design a new solution. My proposal was approved and I lead a development team to the successful creation and launch of the app. Annual data costs went down 25%, reporting, now automated, went up 500%.

What We Did

Designed and led the development of a market analytics app that increased reporting and decreased data costs

Market Intelligence.

On Demand.

The MAG(Market At A Glance) program was a key report I managed in which the sales field requested reports of our department, used to help our customers understand the markets they serve and identify current/future trends within them. Hospital decision-makers rely heavily on its objective data to make informed equipment planning choices, but what the reports had in detail they lacked in accessibility – long wait times and user request limits were common. I designed and lead the development of MAG+ to reduce the friction once and for all, and bring all of the valuable granularity of MAG reports, into a modern on-demand platform which removed the bandwidth limits and got the data into the hands of the customers who needed it the most during COVID-19.
